Gooey Brownies with Dulce de Leche

These are my favorite kind of brownies - not super sweet, just really really chocolatey and gooey. And these ones are extra special because there's homemade dulce de leche swirled on top!

Only downside = no more dulce de leche.

"GOOEY BROWNIES WITH DULCE DE LECHE"
Adapted from "Decadent Fudge Brownies Swirled with Dulce de Leche" on the Tasty Kitchen blog

stick butter (8 tbsp), cut into chunks
8 ounces of chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
2 whole eggs
1 cup sugar
¾ cups flour
¼ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
¼ teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons milk or cream
½ cups dulce de leche

1. Preheat oven to 350 and grease a baking dish - pick a smaller one for thicker brownies, a larger one for thinner brownies. I think I used a 9 X 11 1/2. You're more likely to get a good taste of the dulce de leche on a thinner brownie.

2. In a saucepan melt the butter and chocolate until smooth, stirring constantly. Once smooth, transfer to a mixing bowl.

3. Add the eggs and sugar to the chocolate mixture and stir until pretty smooth again.

4. Add the flour, cocoa powder, salt and milk. Don't skimp of the salt, that's what helps makes it chocolatey.

5. Use a rubber spatula to spread it into the baking dish, filling in the corners.

6. Then spoon on dollops of dulce de leche on top. Use a knife tip to make figure 8's (or just crazy patterns) to swirl it around.

7. Bake at 350 for a 1/2 hour.
