Linda got a new job!!
I had made normal Devils on Horseback (bacon-wrapped dates, sometimes stuffed with cheese, big '70s appetizer) for our Halloween party and I still had a lot of leftover dates. For a special new job treat I decided to upgrade with some brown sugar and chili pepper because pig candy is delicious.
2 dates for each slice of bacon
brown sugar
chili pepper
toothpicks
Soak toothpicks in a cup of water for a couple minutes.
Preheat oven to 400. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and a cooling rack. You'll need 1/2 slice of bacon for each date. Wrap a 1/2 slice of bacon around a date and secure with a toothpick. Repeat for all the dates. Top each with a pinch of brown sugar and chili pepper. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Set on paper towels.
